The Balkan History Association was represented by its vice-president, Dorina Dragnea, at the International Conference “Digitizing the Past and Nourishing the Present: Cultural Heritage Documentation & Performance in Central Asia,” which was organized in hybrid mode on 23 May 2026 by the University of Central Asia in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The presentation covered the institutional approaches to digitizing living heritage and offered examples from the practice of the National Institute of Heritage in Romania. The conference provided a platform for discussion and exchange of experience for researchers, cultural practitioners, archivists, technicians, and decision-makers from universities, research institutes, museums, etc., from the United States of America, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, China, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan, etc.
