Nature's Narrative

This is a leucistic alligator, a rare genetic variation caused by a recessive gene. Unlike albinism, which affects all pigmentation, leucism results in a much lighter skin tone while preserving the natural color of the eyes. This condition solely impacts skin pigmentation and other tissues, without affecting vision, giving the alligator a strikingly pale appearance without the visual impairments often associated with albinism.
