Quadratum Architecture

Partially embedded in the terrain, the two Valea Doftanei holiday houses use the natural topography to extend the program while maintaining a restrained presence above ground. Large glazed openings reinforce the relation between interior and site, while the uppermost level, conceived as a quiet retreat space beneath the roof, introduces a more introspective layer within the overall layout.

The ensemble proposes two holiday houses set within a natural landscape defined by forest, silence and the topography of Valea Doftanei.

The houses are conceived as compact refuges, oriented towards the lake, the terrain and the changing presence of the forest.
