Boots on Roots

What do outdoor foreigners living in Romania do on a sunny Sunday? 😎 They go up in the mountains on the monthly Hike for Expats, meeting other Romanian hikers, exploring remote villages and making new friends & networking. 🧭 For example, we had Americans, Scottish, Polish, Romanians, Dutch and a 4-pawed energetic friend ☺️

The latest event was about discovering the countryside life in the villages of Șirnea and Ciocanu, part of the National Park of King's Rock. We saw plenty of villagers who, after the Easter holiday, are now back to work on the field, with animals and fruit trees. In the forest and meadows, we saw a lot of tracks and signs from wild animals (🐻🐗🦌), a proof that there is a rich biodiversity in our Carpathians.
At the end of the hike, we stopped by Taste From The West - טייסט פרום דה ווסט who hosted us for a delicious and exotic meal in their garden 😋. Mali and Shahar from Israel decided to quit the hustle and bustle from big cities and started a tourism business in Șirnea village. Both of them having Romanian roots, we were glad that we brought our Boots on Roots to their home 💚
