In a conversation with Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari about her remarkable journey and the socially vital work she is undertaking.

Mrs. Lari's genuine ecological vision has transformed the lives of many in the poorest communities in Sindh, Pakistan, in a sustainable way. She was also honoured with the prestigious Fukuoka Prize in 2016 and the RIBA’s Royal Gold Medal in 2023.

MALIKA DANCING 🩰 by Anan Al-Olayan

Al-Olayan is a self-taught Saudi artist known for her evocative digital fine art and mixed-media compositions.

With a microbiology and medical research background, her transition to art brought a meticulous eye and fascination with hidden structures, sensibilities that now shape her layered, symbolic work.

Inspired by her cross-cultural life between London and Al-Khobar, Al-Olayan creates digital composites that fuse photography, drawing, and cultural motifs.

Her acclaimed Malika series explores themes of veiled identity, feminine sovereignty, and introspective power through surreal portraits of crowned, masked figures.

Her work, which has been exhibited at Lahd Gallery, the Singapore Art Fair (2014), and Le Salon de Lahd (2015), is a poetic theatre of contrasts between the seen and unseen, tradition and reinvention, intimacy and spectacle.
