Routine consular services at the U.S. Embassy in Doha, including visas, remain suspended. Limited emergency services for American Citizens are being provided. Americans requiring assistance, including passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) issuance, should contact [email protected]. NOTE: The U.S. Embassy in Doha lifted its shelter in place advisory. We recommend that all Americans in Qatar remain vigilant, follow directions issued by local authorities, and be prepared to seek shelter if the Qatari authorities issue an alert.

Full Alert:
We are monitoring the situation in the Middle East closely and will keep you updated so you can make decisions about your safety. If you want to leave the Middle East, the U.S. government is ready to assist by providing you the latest information about available departure options. President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and the Department of State have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens. New or updated information below is indicated in bold.

If you remain in Qatar, you should remain vigilant and be prepared to shelter in place in a secure location if the Qatari authorities issue an alert. Keep a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items in your residence. We urge all Americans to exercise caution, follow local authorities’ instructions, and review the latest guidance from the U.S. Embassy.

Options to Depart

There are commercial options to leave Qatar.

Limited commercial flights are currently departing from Qatar. Qatar Airways is operating many of these flights and may be reached at +974-4144-5555 or 1-877-777-2827.
There are overland routes to Saudi Arabia where commercial flight options are available to depart the region.

Follow the Department of State guidelines to protect yourself from scams . Be careful of anyone asking for money. If you are a victim of a scam, learn how the FBI can help .

Mission Posture
· The U.S. Embassy in Doha lifted its shelter in place advisory. We recommend that all Americans in Qatar remain vigilant, follow directions issued by local authorities, and be prepared to seek shelter if the Qatari authorities issue an alert. Please exercise caution, as the Iranian government and its proxies may seek to target Americans in retaliation for U.S. strikes against Iran.

Consular Services
· The U.S. Embassy in Doha has suspended all routine consular services. Public access to the embassy is not permitted at present. We will continue to assist you wherever you may be located across the Middle East. Our Task Force continues to provide information and assistance.
· Americans should contact [email protected] in case of emergency.

Actions to Take
· Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive safety and security updates from the U.S. Embassy.
· Maintain communication with family and friends to inform them of your status.
· Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
· Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building in case of alerts from local authorities. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.
· In case of an attack, stay away from any debris, and monitor news outlets for official guidance.
· Avoid protests and demonstrations, keep a low profile, and stay aware of your surroundings.
· Pay close attention to communications from local officials.
· Follow the “U.S. Department of State – Security Updates for U.S. Citizens” channel on WhatsApp. Download WhatsApp at whatsapp.com/download .
· Keep your cell phone charged and pre-programmed with the following emergency numbers.
