All life begins without words, life is made and no-one owns it. The Tao is neither selfish nor proud. The Tao is generous and grateful in what it does, without ever claiming any merit. Greatness may lie in taking no credit. (The more I read of Lau Tzu the more I identify the Tao (The way) as Mother Nature, just my slant on it for in verse 1 "The Tao that can be named is not the Tao!")

The difficult is born in the easy, long is defined by short, high by low, before and after go along with each other. The sage lives openly with this duality. He can act without effort, teach without words, nurture things without possessing them. He works not for rewards and competes but not for results.
