Thank you to Christian Courraud who led our Members’ Webinar on Tuesday around a topic we are ALL aware of - back pain.

As we moved into our four-week countdown to our Special Event - Understanding Pain - Christian talked about the international public health problem of chronic, non-specific, low back pain, and the significant economic and social consequences. As it is now the leading cause of disability worldwide, with major consequences for adults' quality of life and productivity, extensive research has shown that psychosocial factors play a major role in its chronicity.

Recommended treatments are normally based on physical exercise, advice and non-drug interventions. In this context, research into fascia and into manual and gestural fascia therapies offers new perspectives for managing this problem, which is exactly what Christian showed us to help us better understand the role of fascia in body perception and its implication in low back pain.
