In Porto there’s something I’ve never seen anywhere else: two churches, side by side.

For those facing the facades, the church o the left is Igreja dos Carmelitas, and the one on the right is Igreja do Carmo.

The set is classified as a National Monumental since 2013.

Curiosity: the Carmelita’s one was built in 1628, meanwhile the Carmo one was built just 140 years later, in 1728.

Luís bridge, but also learn about the history of the people and the city. To enjoy it even more, sit in one of the bars and restaurants to taste the spectacular local cuisine. You can also appreciate the views of Gaia - the city on the other side of the river. From Ribeira, boat trips departs away to the Rio D'Ouro, crossing the 6 bridges and beyond.
