Portugal has been voted Europe's best tourist destination at the World Travel Awards, whose award ceremony took place this Friday in Batumi, Georgia.

At the same ceremony, the city of *Porto was distinguished as the Best European Destination for Urban Escapade, the *Algarve was the winner of the Best Beach Destination in Europe, *Lisbon was considered the Best City Destination in Europe, *Madeira the Best Island Destination in Europe and the *Corridors of Paiva, in Arouca (Aveiro district), as the Best Adventure Tourism Attraction.
