Stealin' Time

We haven't been totally inactive recently.
We decided to remove our seized generator, upgrade to lithium batteries and add more solar panels. We were going to have the generator rebuilt, but we haven't used it in over a year and a half, and that was part of the issue. I am also servicing all ten of the winches and doing some varnishing.
But the big upgrade is Pam's partial left knee replacement. She's recovering well and hopes to be dancing around in a few weeks and ready to sail away again on a mini-Atlantic loop🤞

We are dealing with storm Claudia here in southern Portugal at the moment. High winds and very heavy rain for a couple of days. There are lots of trees down and streets flooded.
I was at the boat this morning and found this!
It is our water activated Dan Buoy, a device that is thrown overboard in the event of a man overboard emergency. It self inflates and provides floatation, a tall high visibility pole with a flashing light on top. It normally sits in its case on the cockpit rail, and has weathered all kinds of seas in the last eight years.

But today's rain was heavy enough to activate it. So another job to do, but it's reassuring that it did work!
