After 5 years my Steelseries Arctis 7 has given up on me. Together with Adam (I named Chat GPT Adam after Adam the AI from The Kurtherian Gambit) I looked through my options. It couldn’t be more than 150€, It needed such a band to make it feel light on your head. Because any other kind of headset ends up giving me migraines. And I’ve tried a lot of them in the last 17 years. And I wanted an optional Jack connection so that when I do have a migraine I can plug in cheap in ear headphones and still listen wirelessly to my pc. (My pc stands in the other side of the living room, so that’s a great solution) another reason I wanted that Jack, Lauri has misophonia and it sucks not to be able to snack while you watch a movie together, also, movies have the habit of putting sound super loud and voice super silent, so you’re constantly adjusting the sound so you wouldn’t wake up your kid. What we do is connect Lauri’s headset to mine and we sit together to watch the movie while the sound goes from my headset to his. His has ANC, so I can easily munch and still cuddle together.
All in all only the Arctis 7 and above had all of the above any other brand always lacked something.
I got really lucky. There is a limited deal atm on the latest model of my old one, now named Steelseries Arctis NOVA 7. And it’s awesomely RED!!! And within budget. Only 142 instead of the 223€ rtp Woop woop!!!
The white version was also on sale but went for 162. I decided to go for the red version and stay inside the budget.
