Did you know that in some areas of Portugal, such as Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco or Portalegre, there's a ceremony called the "burning of a yule-log" in a large bonfire in the churchyard?
It serves as a meeting point to gather friends and neighbours and wish a Merry Christmas to everyone.
