What is happening with FinCen BOI reporting?

On March 2nd, The US Treasury Department announced the suspension of the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) against US Citizens and domestic reporting companies. This means penalties and fines are not to be enforced under the regulatory deadlines.

On February 27, 2025, FinCEN had already announced it would not issue fines or penalties for failure to file or update BOI reports by current deadlines. An interim rule is intended to be issued by March 21, 2025, which should extend reporting deadlines and provide future outcomes.
