And just like that, CIRACET Summer Internship Program 2026 is a wrap. 🎓

This past Friday, July 17th, the CIRACET Summer Internship Program came to a close with something we'll remember for a long time: our interns taking the stage to present the work they poured themselves over four weeks.

Week after week, they showed up with curiosity, commitment, and a drive to make a real contribution. What started as ideas became projects. What started as introductions became a team.

To our mentors — thank you for your time, your guidance, and your belief in this next generation. To our speakers — thank you for opening doors and sharing your experience. And to our interns — thank you for bringing your best every single day. We are incredibly proud of everything you accomplished this summer.

This past Friday, July 10th, Jorge L. Castro Torres joined us to share his journey and expertise through his talk, "Science That Becomes a Company: Turning Research into Health Technology." 🔬💼

Jorge is the Founder, President, and Principal Investigator of iHnnova LLC, a UPRM spin-off developing a handheld medical device for the focal treatment of prostate cancer using magnetic nanoparticles. Holding a BA in Applied Physics, an MS in Electrical Engineering, and a PhD in Bioengineering, his work combines electromagnetic engineering and nanotechnology to build magnetic hyperthermia systems that generate localized therapeutic heat within tissue. His research is supported by an NSF STTR Phase I grant and the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust.
