Only 2.7% of the people represented on-screen have disabilities, yet people with disabilities make up 20% of the population. And of that 2.7%, less than 5% are being played by actors and actresses who actually have disabilities. People with disabilities deserve to see themselves in movies and on TV, and actors and actresses with disabilities deserve those opportunities to appear on-screen. It's time to start paying attention to an underrepresented group of people Hollywood seems to be ignoring.
