Sometimes I worry that a big part of our society will die being so busy that they are going to miss their own funeral. Go see your family, call your friends, ask them how they have been. Then ask yourself the same question.

Recently I really got into recording voice messages instead of texting. And guess what? My friends love it! Funny how they all pointed out the exact same thing: it’s nice to hear a human voice. Living in different parts of the world, we keep each other company while drinking morning coffee, driving to and from work and right before we fall asleep. Sometimes it’s just a short goodnight message but somehow it evokes way more positive emotions than a text. I can hear when my friends smile, hestitate, take a breath or pause to rethink what they wanted to say and how to express it in a right way. I don’t mean to diminish the power of the written word. Just wanted to stress that modern technology has enabled the creation of a myriad communication tools and we should be careful not to drown in the ocean of medicore conversations. Let's try to listen to yourself and others more attentively.
