Learning Battle Cards
09/03/2026
The training room is ready and waiting for us in Jakarta!
On April 15 we’ll be running a Learning Battle Cards workshop there, and it already feels exciting to imagine the ideas, discussions, and learning design challenges that will soon fill this space.
There is something special about seeing a room prepared for a workshop – empty for now, but full of potential.
See you soon in Jakarta!
How often, when designing a training or an L&D process, do we really consider the needs of the participants?
And how often do we stop at just thinking about them?
Merely thinking about other people’s needs is a risky business—it opens the door to cognitive biases.
It means designing learning not for real people, but for our imagined version of them.
Watch to find different options in the Analysis component of your Learning and Development project.
👉 Design for real people, not your assumptions about them.

Learning Battle Cards is a universe of diverse learning forms, captured in a deck of 110 cards. But the real power of these cards lies not just in the individual methods—they shine when you start combining them in pairs, unlocking the full potential of each learning strategy.
Let’s take the Quiz—one of the most popular learning forms, especially in digital learning. But… are you really using its full potential?
Let’s look at a few combinations:
🟡 Add the Summary card, and you’ll see the quiz not just as an assessment tool, but as a meaningful wrap-up for each key part of your training. It helps the learner confirm they’re leaving a module with the right knowledge. But be careful—it requires the skill of asking essential, not just easy, questions.
🟡 Pair it with Playability, and the quiz becomes a fun, energizing element of your course. A light quiz at the beginning? A simple way to boost dopamine and engagement. Here, go for intuitive, interesting—not too difficult—questions.
🟡 Now combine it with Reflection. That sparks the idea of using questions that provoke deeper thought—perfect for raising awareness. “What percentage of communication is non-verbal?”, “How many news articles are AI-generated?” The more surprising the answer, the better.
🟡 Add Social Network, and you might see a way to boost interest in your training on social media. Quizzes and quick challenges thrive in that environment.
🟡 The Feedback card? It reminds you how critical good feedback is—especially on incorrect answers. It’s a great way to guide learners to the right resources.
🟡 Quiz + Movie opens the door to interactive videos—think branching scenarios, where the learner’s choices drive the storyline.
And what if you added Practice, Assessment, Showcase, or Self-analysis?
✨ We’ve just wrapped up an inspiring Learning Battle Cards workshop in Dubai… and guess what? We’re already preparing for the next one – April 15, 2026 in Jakarta!
Dubai was full of ideas, deep conversations, creative tension, and cards flying across boards – quite literally. We met professionals who don’t just “deliver training,” but design learning experiences that lead to real, lasting change.
We are already getting ready to meet the incredible L&D minds of Southeast Asia.
This workshop is made possible thanks to our partnership with ACE Learning – and a big thank you to Edysen Shin for bringing it to life!
