The Healable

I used to hear people say, “the hardest part of parenting is meeting your child where they are.”

And I didn’t really understand it.

But now, being in it… I’m starting to see it differently.

It’s not about who they were yesterday.
It’s not about who they might become.

It’s about right here.
This moment.
Who they are today.

And sometimes… that’s the hardest place to stay.

What’s the hardest lesson you learnt as a parent?

Some words in my diary this week and I want to share with you if you’re feeling that “debt”, the pressure to be selfless until you disappear.

Take a moment to notice it.

Your children are watching you become whole.

And there is no greater gift
than the sight of a person who is truly,
deeply alive.

Here’s the truth you might not want to hear.

Those limits you have heard and grown up with,
They affect on how visible you can be.

How much you’re allowed to want.
How freely you can feel, dream, and imagine.

And those limits don’t disappear on their own.
They need to be gently unlearned.

What you heard growing up may explain your hesitation, but they definitely don’t define your future. The moment you notice those old voices, they begin to lose their power.

You’re not blocked by laziness.

You’re often navigating emotional rules that once kept you safe:
don’t stand out
don’t disappoint
don’t risk rejection
don’t dream too far

Yet safety and aliveness are not the same.

And breaking these beliefs rarely looks dramatic. It begins with your permission, to want more, to try before feeling ready, to be imperfect and fully yourself.

The life you want isn’t built through force.
It’s built through reclamation.

Reclaiming your voice.
Your curiosity.
Your desires.
Your space.
