An airfield lighting project is not only about delivering the lights on-site. Installation, operation, and maintenance are just as important as the equipment itself.
That’s why a manufacturer shouldn’t just supply AGL and leave — it’s important to ensure it is correctly installed and configured. More about it in the article: https://solutions4ga.com/why-on-site-manufacturer-support-matters-in-airfield-lighting-projects/

Cost often becomes the deciding factor when evaluating solar airfield lighting.
But cost alone does not define how the system will behave in operation. Like any AGL system, a solar-powered one requires the same level of technical assessment as conventional. Without it, the installation may not match real operating conditions or deliver the expected outcome.
That is why each S4GA project follows a structured evaluation:
1. Clarifying the airport requirements
2. Feasibility assessment
3. AGL system design
4. Technical and commercial offer
We believe this is the right approach to the solar AGL project assessment.
Compliance is a core part of how airfield lighting systems are designed and assessed. For airport operators, it ensures regulatory approval and predictable performance in real operating conditions.
"All the light fittings that S4GA manufactures — high intensity, medium, or low intensity — are always in compliance with a number of regulations.
ICAO Annex 14, of course, is a major one, but apart from this, we also take into account multiple others, like FAA, CASA, EASA regulations, and even the British CAPs," shares Łukasz Kornacki of S4GA in an interview with Derek Calloway, Director of Dewhurst Airfield Services.

Airports do not select airfield lighting systems based on claims — each decision must align with ICAO, EASA, FAA, and other regional regulatory standards.
They create a common reference point for regulators, consultants, and operators involved in the decision.
In practice, this provides a level of assurance that the system will work safely and in line with standards used across the aviation industry. This makes the selection process more predictable and reduces the likelihood of delays or unexpected challenges later.
Compliance, in this context, is one of the visible markers of an established supplier — and a way for airports to move forward with greater confidence.
