What kind of jobs in Poland do we usually not recommend?

We always want candidates to choose a job consciously — not only by looking at the salary, but also by understanding the real working conditions.

From our experience, some jobs can be very difficult for many workers, especially if someone is coming to Poland for the first time.

We usually do not recommend jobs such as:

▪️ waste sorting
▪️ plastic sorting
▪️ production of plastic products
▪️ work in chemical production
▪️ production or packing of dangerous liquids

Why?

These jobs are often connected with:

• strong smells
• contact with dust, plastic, chemicals or waste
• protective clothing and masks for many hours
• repetitive and tiring work
• uncomfortable working conditions
• higher physical and mental stress

Of course, every person is different. Some workers can adapt to these jobs and feel fine there. But in general, we believe it is better to choose more stable and comfortable workplaces, especially if you are looking for long-term work in Poland.

Our goal is not only to help you find a job, but to help you find a job where you can feel safe, respected and comfortable.

That is why before offering a position, we always try to explain the real conditions — honestly and clearly.

A good job is not only about money.
It is also about health, safety and feeling good at work. 🤝

Recently, we have been receiving this question very often:

“Why don’t you hire candidates who still do not have documents?”

We truly understand these messages, and we really appreciate the interest. But we would like to explain this once again in a clear way.

At AP-1, we work legally, transparently, and responsibly. Because of that, when a person does not yet have the documents needed to start working in Poland, the whole process becomes very long and much more complicated.

It does not start with work right away.

First, we need to speak with the candidate and understand which of our projects would be the best match for them. After that, we submit an application for a work permit. This document is issued by the office, and the waiting time can be very different. Sometimes it takes around 2 weeks, sometimes 1–2 months, and sometimes even up to 3 months. Unfortunately, we have no influence on how quickly the office issues this document.

When the work permit is ready, the next stage begins — the visa preparation process. This also takes additional time. Documents must be prepared carefully, and then the candidate needs to get an appointment for a visa application. Depending on the country, this appointment may be available quite soon, but in some places it may take much longer. In practice, it may be after one month, but it can also be after several months. Different Polish embassies work at different speeds.

And even then, there is still no 100% guarantee that the visa will be issued.

Of course, we can do everything correctly, prepare the documents properly, and support the candidate through the process — but sometimes unexpected situations happen and the visa is not granted. In that case, the entire process may need to be repeated, or an appeal may need to be submitted, which again means more waiting time.

After that, the candidate still needs to buy a ticket to Poland and organize the arrival date in a way that is convenient for both sides.

So in reality, what seems simple at first can become a process lasting many months. In some cases, from the very beginning of the process until the employee is finally in Poland and ready to start work, it can take an extremely long time.

For us, this is usually too long.

Most often, companies inform us about their staffing needs only 1–2 months in advance. That means they need workers relatively quickly. Because of that, we usually focus on candidates who are already in Poland and already have the documents that allow them to work legally.

This is not because we do not want to help others. It is simply because the timing of most recruitment projects does not allow such a long process.

We hope this explains the situation a little better.
And thank you again to everyone who writes to us and wants to work with us. 🤝
