Head First Remixed sees Akuratyde’s 2024 album reimagined by a carefully selected cast of collaborators. Each track is reinterpreted through a distinct lens, spanning several genres while retaining the emotional core of the original material. Contributions from Bop, Syglit, Tellus, Human Synthetics, Alpha Rhythm, Monika, Biorhythm, Sorse, Alegria, Stillhead, and Akuratyde transform the tracks, from glitch-heavy IDM and microfunk, to atmospheric jungle, to stripped-back minimalism and rave-inspired breakbeat, the album constantly shifts shape while remaining anchored in the melodic identity of Head First. The result is a deeply varied but cohesive body of work that reframes the original album and gives it a new identity.

'Oceans' by myself and Voitek Noir is OUT TODAY on Artikal Music UK on a super-limited lathe cut vinyl as well as digitally (and it features a J:KENZO remix!)! It remains one of my favourite tunes I've ever had a hand in writing and I'm so glad I was patient enough to see it all through for the tune to find such a fitting home for a label.
Funnily enough, we don't have any more recent photos together with Wojtek as we don't get to see each other as often as back in the days when we made this (or as often as I'd like to even), so Yakowsky (who is also responsible for the entire artwork side of things for this release) kindly spliced us together for this one 🤪
So grateful this day has finally come, it truly is one of the happiest days on my path as an artist thus far. It's been a long time coming and the music now no longer belongs to us now that it's out there in the world. It is yours to listen to, play it out loud and enjoy!
