Connecting the Dots: My Journey Through Music and Coaching

Reflecting on the last couple of decades, it feels like I've lived many different lives.

I started by teaching music at major schools in Zimbabwe, headhunted straight out of high school. Playing violin and cello in string quartets and symphony orchestras. Picking up the guitar for the first time at 21 was a turning point that forever changed my path.

Eventually, I moved to London to pursue my singer-songwriter career, also rocking the bass in a friend’s band fresh on the scene. My social skills and tech know-how helped me build a fanbase on MySpace (remember that!? Social media v1.0). I was already running algorithms to successfully find new fans back then.

Working in IT and recruitment solutions in Richmond, West London, before going all-in with my trusty guitar and songwriting. Busking the London Underground, Southbank by The Thames, in Edinburgh, on Birmingham High Street, etc. Until I finally got my UK passport in 2009. Such Triumph! That opened up a whole new level of the video game, which I certainly did not waste.

I immediately flew to LA for the first time to attend a music conference. Learning about music business, branding, and marketing from someone who used to work for Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child. Learning songwriting techniques from one of John Mayer’s teachers at Berklee. Diving into music production, mixing, and mastering from people who have worked with top names in the business. The list goes on. There are many, many elements that need to align to create a successful music career.

And so I started to see more of the world...

Performing live shows at concerts or festivals and busking across four continents, all self managed. From Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa to The UK, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Spain, Italy, Greece, New Zealand, Australia, and America. Spreading good vibes, connecting with all sorts of people. Living, learning, sharing, trusting in the unknown and the unseen. Trusting in the powerful vision that infected my consciousness in my youth.

For many years, home was wherever I was.

Then came time to move to the magical island of Ibiza to set up my own record label and officially begin getting paid for the knowledge and support I had been giving people ad hoc.

This was my time to take root and go deeper into my journey of the self. Human psychology, relationship psychology, spirituality, metaphysics, ta**ra, meditation, somatic sexuality, hypnosis, writing, podcasting, and just simply… stillness. I had never lived alone before 2020 at the age of 40! Such a gift despite the timing.

The Soul Mechanic

Looking back, it starts to make even more sense. What looks like being all over the map, literally, is what allows me to be the master key for artists who find themselves stuck in a rut, even if things are not all that bad. To help usher them towards their next level of achievement.

Empowering clients from all types of backgrounds…

Helping an empathic music legend work on creating better personal boundaries. Supporting their transition into a new artistic style of expression and helping them understand how to navigate the modern music industry since the days of old-school record deals.

Helping a Hollywood actor to identify and overcome internal blocks and create new empowering daily habits.

Assisting an all-star band to break through with their next album after a lacklustre debut despite having the names, the funding and the shiny brand. Indeed, there are many elements that need to align to create a successful music career and I love being able to help identify those key areas then provide the tools needed to fortify and to supercharge.

All my dots make me a super weapon on creative teams looking to make an impact in showbiz.
