How long does it take to weave a band like this? Can you count the picks (moves) in this video? Check your answer below. 👇
At 4 picks per minute, one full pattern repeat (52 picks) takes about 13 minutes.
This band has 14 repeats, so that’s just over 3 hours of weaving.
But that’s only the ideal rhythm.
In reality, there are tension adjustments, weft changes, and sometimes going back a few turns to fix a mistake or fix a broken thread.
Warping and threading take about 40 minutes, and finishing another 30–40 minutes.
This band is 190 cm long (woven part, plus tassels to come).
In total, it’s at least 5 hours of work.
