Sail Service Classic

Tall ships from around the globe are gathering in the United States to celebrate the country's 250th anniversary. A series of spectacular events, both on the water and along the quaysides, has been planned.

The first gathering of tall ships took place in New Orleans. The Mississippi River was lined with masts, and the night sky lit up with fireworks.

The next event in the Sail250 series is just around the corner: Sail Virginia in Norfolk, followed by gatherings in Baltimore, New York and Boston.

It will be some time before we see Christian Radich like this again - under full sail and in all her glory.

This season, the iconic tall ship is undergoing an important refit and will be missed on the water. While her absence will certainly be felt, especially during The Tall ships Races, work like this is part of preserving the future of these magnificent vessels and ensuring they continue to sail for years to come.

We wish Christian Radich and everyone involved in her refit fair winds and steady progress, and we look forward to welcoming her back where she belongs - at sea, with her masts on the horizon once again.
