An interactive archive, "Refugee Atlas "by philosopher and essayist Pawel Moscicki is out!

➡︎ The project is a visual atlas on the experience of migration and the destiny of refugees in Europe in response to its ongoing crisis.

➡︎ The direct source of inspiration in the attempt to create a visual atlas concerning the experience of migration and the destiny of refugees was the famous Bilderatlas Mnemosyne by Aby Warburg.

➡︎ In the Refugee Atlas, we followed Warburg’s footsteps primarily in the form of the presentation. It consists of 24 plates comprising various kinds of images (photographs, films, drawings, maps, diagrams, etc.), texts, and music.

➡︎ Atlas is thus a tool serving to create knowledge through montage, based on free associations, juxtapositions, and the sense of dialectic short circuits.
