🌊 Flood Safety Tips

BEFORE (Flood Preparedness)

Stay informed on local news.

Prepare an emergency bag with food, medicines, documents, flashlight, and pet items.

Know how to evacuate and identify safe alternative routes.

Leave before flooding starts.

In flood-prone areas, keep useful items at home (sandbags, ladder, rope, etc.).

DURING THE FLOOD

Disconnect electricity and gas.

Do not walk or drive in flood water.

Move to higher ground.

Follow evacuation orders.

Free cattle and lead animals to a safer place.

AFTER (Post-Flood Safety)

Avoid contact with flood water and swimming.

Do not touch power lines.

Do not return home or to disaster areas until authorities declare it safe.

Inform your family that you are safe.

Once back home: clean and disinfect all surfaces and items.

سیلاب سے پہلے (تیاری)

مقامی خبروں سے باخبر رہیں۔

ہنگامی بیگ تیار رکھیں جس میں کھانے کی چیزیں، ادویات، دستاویزات، ٹارچ اور پالتو جانوروں کے ضروری سامان ہوں۔

انخلا کا طریقہ اور محفوظ متبادل راستے معلوم کریں۔

سیلاب شروع ہونے سے پہلے علاقے کو خالی کر دیں۔

سیلاب سے متاثرہ علاقوں میں گھر پر ضروری سامان رکھیں (ریت کی بوریاں، سیڑھی، رسی وغیرہ)۔

سیلاب کے دوران

بجلی اور گیس کا کنکشن منقطع کریں۔

سیلابی پانی میں چلنے یا گاڑی چلانے سے گریز کریں۔

کسی اونچی جگہ پر چلے جائیں۔

انخلا کے احکامات پر عمل کریں۔

مویشیوں کو آزاد کریں اور انہیں محفوظ جگہ پر لے جائیں۔

سیلابی پانی کے ساتھ رابطے اور تیرنے سے گریز کریں۔

بجلی کی تاروں کو نہ چھوئیں۔

گھر یا متاثرہ علاقوں میں واپس نہ جائیں جب تک کہ حکام محفوظ قرار نہ دیں۔

اپنے خاندان کو اطلاع دیں کہ آپ محفوظ ہیں۔

گھر واپس آنے کے بعد: تمام سطحوں اور سامان کو اچھی طرح صاف اور جراثیم سے پاک کریں۔
