In its simplest form,
it involves heating a liquid until its most volatile component (the one with the lowest boiling point) turns into v***r, then cooling that v***r back into a liquid (distillate) and collecting it in a separate container.
​How It Works: The Three-Step Process
​Ev***ration: The mixture is heated in a flask. The component with the lower boiling point ev***rates first.
​Condensation: The v***r travels through a cooling tube (usually a condenser), which causes it to cool down and return to a liquid state.
​Collection: The newly purified liquid drips into a receiving flask, leaving the less volatile substances or impurities behind in the original container.
