One of the sad things that lots of people don't understand is the intensity of someone's desire to be loved. Some people actually need community love—they might actually need a friend's love, a family's love, or a love from a certain person. That's actually what they need, yet everybody would tell those who desire to be loved to "love themselves instead."

How sad is it to be told to love yourself when what you actually needed was to be loved by certain individuals? It's like reaching out or seeking help from people and ending up being told, "go, help yourself.
