Sales Tax General Order No. 8 of 2026, making it mandatory for all registered manufacturers and toll manufacturers engaged in the production and packaging of bottled water to install an Electronic Production Monitoring System (Track & Trace) with immediate effect. The system will capture and transmit real-time production data directly to FBR to ensure accurate monitoring and prevent tax evasion. Installation must be completed by 15 June 2026, and the system can only be supplied and maintained by FBR-authorized vendors. This order has been issued under Section 40C of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and applies to all bottled water producers across Pakistan.
