Attended a UNHCR meeting held in collaboration with WHO and represented Medical Women’s International Association alongside Dr.Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi, Past President of Medical Women’s International Association. Highly grateful for her trust on us and continous support and guidance as mentor.

The discussion highlighted the importance of supporting refugee health professionals across the globe, with examples from Pakistan and Afghan refugee communities, where many talented individuals continue pursuing medical education, residency, and professional training despite significant challenges.

We appreciated the opportunities being provided through collaborative efforts and emphasized the need for stronger coordination between governments, international organizations, and professional bodies to further facilitate stipend provision, ease visa and mobility processes for trainees and residents, and create professional and employment opportunities after completion of their degrees and training.

Supporting refugee health professionals is not only an investment in individuals but also in stronger healthcare systems and healthier communities worldwide.
