‎گوالمنڈی اور ملحقہ علاقے صرف کھانے پینے کے لیے ہی مشہور نہیں، آپ شاید جانتے ہوں گے کہ یہاں برکت علی اسلامیہ ہال کے نام سے ایک تاریخی عمارت بھی موجود ہے۔ یہاں تحریکِ پاکستان سے وابستہ بہت سے تاریخی کرداروں نے بےشمار اثر انگیز تقاریر کیں جنہوں نے تحریکِ پاکستان کا رخ پلٹ دیا اور ابنائے ملت میں نیا ولولہ بیدار کر دیا۔
‎اس بار اتوار 29 دسمبر کو اسی ہال میں کوانٹم دنیا یعنی سائنس کے موضوعات پر سَیرِ حاصِل گفتگو ہو گی اور دنیا بھر میں جانے مانے پاکستانی ماہر طبیعیات، سائنسدان اور دانشور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سہیل زبیری ہمارے ساتھ موجود ہوں گے جو کوانٹم دنیا اور اسکے رازوں سے پردہ اٹھائیں گے۔

From echoing with the voices of public and political gatherings in the 20th century to resonating with the spirit of knowledge today, the historic Barkat Ali Islamia Hall is set to host a Public Lecture on the “Mysteries of the Quantum World.”
Organized by the Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS), Pakistan, in collaboration with the Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA), this event will feature Prof. Dr. M. Suhail Zubairy, University Distinguished Professor and Munnerlyn-Heep Chair in Quantum Optics at Texas A&M University.

The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton for their pioneering work on artificial neural networks, a fundamental concept in machine learning.

John Hopfield's Contributions:

1. Hopfield networks: Introduced a recurrent neural network model that enabled associative memory and pattern recognition.
2. Energy-based models: Developed the concept of energy-based models, laying the foundation for modern neural networks.

Geoffrey Hinton's Contributions:

1. Backpropagation: Popularized the backpropagation algorithm for training neural networks.
2. Deep learning: Contributed to the development of deep learning architectures, including multilayer perceptrons and convolutional neural networks.
3. Restricted Boltzmann Machines (RBMs): Introduced RBMs, a type of neural network that facilitated unsupervised learning.
