Thrilled to announce the release of the second edition of "Making Greener Cities: Concept, Challenges, and Practice." Kudos to Martina Artmann, Cristian Ioja, and Juergen Breuste, for being an invaluable team for this exciting venture.

In this new edition, we delve into the fundamental concepts and themes that underlie the transformation of urban environments into sustainable, green, and habitable cities. Our book sheds light on the pivotal role that nature can play within the urban landscape and how this integration can elevate the quality of life for urban residents. In a world where individuals, urban planners, designers, and policymakers are increasingly dedicated to the creation of green cities, this book offers invaluable insights. While some cities are already celebrated as green cities, others are actively striving to attain this status. However, the objectives and approaches often diverge, making it essential to comprehend the multifaceted nature of this endeavour.

Featuring contributions from preeminent researchers, our book offers an interdisciplinary exploration of both exemplary practices and challenges encountered in the pursuit of greener cities. These best practices are drawn from around the world, encompassing Europe, America, and Asia. They draw inspiration from diverse biophysical and cultural backgrounds within these continents, spanning Central, Southern, and Eastern Europe, as well as Latin and North America. Moreover, we showcase the dynamic urban development of Asia through illuminating case studies from China and the Indian subcontinent.

Join us in exploring "Making Greener Cities: Concept, Challenges, and Practice" to deepen your understanding of sustainable urban development worldwide. Together, we can contribute to greener, more harmonious cities that benefit all.
