Children between the ages of 10 and 12 can now construct their own VR identity through "parent-managed" profiles, according to a recent announcement by Meta.
Parents will be able to control how much time their children may spend using VR each day and young users won't see advertisements. Additionally, projecting to a phone or TV will allow parents to keep an eye on what their children are doing in VR, and pre-teen Horizon profiles will be automatically set to private to prevent predatory behavior.
Studies have increasingly revealed that children's use of social media can be detrimental to their development, mental health, and other areas as well. Really, we shouldn't allow young children to use social media apps because exposure risk alone poses serious risks. Similarly, concerns have been raised about virtual reality (VR), where predators can use the environment to carry out their evil intentions because it is much more immersive and all-consuming!

TikTok is expanding its 'Series' subscription option, which allows producers to paywall certain content, to give more creators the chance to make money in the app.
Initially, Series was only accessible to a small number of producers, but TikTok has tightened the criteria for who may join up, allowing all creators over the age of 18 with more than 10,000 followers to use the service.
To keep its best stars posting to its app, TikTok must continue to focus on creating efficient income strategies for them. While TikTok may be the platform of choice right now, YouTube and Instagram have higher monetization potential. If TikTok can't keep its top producers satisfied, they may eventually go to other platforms and take their sizable audiences with them.
In some ways, it seems like the major platforms should be trying to lock up their top creators with exclusive content deals, but at the same time, allowing creators more freedom to monetize in various formats increases their earning potential and audience while also enhancing the content streams in each app!

Amazon, a major online retailer, is integrating AI in twelve warehouses. Before shipping, the technology will inspect the goods for damage. This will expedite choosing and packing while lowering the number of defective items shipped out.
At the moment, when picking orders, things are examined for signs of wear and tear by the warehouse staff of the online marketplace. Given that the majority of things are in good condition, checking for damage can be time-consuming, according to Jeremy Wyatt, director of applied science at Amazon Robotics. Because you are plainly searching for something uncommon and it is not your core job, that is intellectually taxing.
Two of Amazon's fulfillment centers have already adopted the new AI. The technology is currently being implemented at ten other locations throughout Europe and North America. The company claims that the AI is three times more proficient than a warehouse employee at spotting damage.
The AI was taught using images of intact versus damaged objects. In this manner, it learned the distinctions such that it can flag a product when it does not appear to be flawless. During the picking and packing process, the objects are examined.
Bins are filled with the selected goods for each order. These pass via an imaging station where they are examined to ensure that the appropriate products were chosen. Now, that imaging station will examine them for damage as well. The bin is moved to a worker if something is broken!
