Dr Yash Rathi
Honestly, life is so light when you don’t have any petty, insecure and jealous feelings about anyone. You don’t realize it but any of these feelings that you carry , is extra weight on your own heart.
When these feelings come, don’t run away, sit with them.
Say
“ I feel petty sometimes, or jealous. It’s natural. The struggle for survival is in my DNA and this struggle has historically necessitated competition. There will always be an inclination in me to compare myself to everyone ”
Then also say
“ Knowing the roots for my behavior does not have to trap me in a diagnosis. I can be better (and we all know what better means to each one of us). There is so much suffering in the world, everybody who lives, goes through unimaginable grief at some point in his/her life. This is the inherent condition of the game where people we love, actually die. No one can escape it. People get only a few shots at true happiness. The birthdays, that engagement party, that professional success, the birth of their first child.
I must bless them all, even if I am not feeling fulfilled in my life. I will be happy for people when it is their chance “
Little by little, you will train yourself.
And your heart will become lighter and lighter , until you will feel that you are not feeling “two ways” about anyone’s happiness.
You will begin to see how beautiful humans are when they are really, truly happy. When they run out of words. When their eyes are full of happy tears. And you will see that as much as you want these moments of joy for yourself , you also really love it for them.
