PTI supporters are currently driving from across the country towards Rawalpindi. Khan was also scheduled to leave on Saturday for what is expected to be a large political gathering.

Meanwhile, the interior minister said he has ordered the government to ensure participants’ security.

Interior minister said:
"In accordance with the red alert given by the security agencies, we have formally issued an advisory regarding a potential threat to the PTI rally tomorrow. Imran Khan should postpone his plan because any anti-state group could take advantage of it to instigate disorder across the nation."
