This exceptional Rose Crystal is a massive natural specimen of Rose Quartz, originally mined in Brazil. Its large size and uniform, beautiful pink color make it a rare geological treasure. The pink hue comes from trace amounts of manganese and titanium within the quartz, formed deep in the Earth millions of years ago.

I am explaining this to my friends as we visit the park – standing in Donghai, the “Crystal Capital of the World,” surrounded by so many crystals, makes this giant pink crystal even more amazing. It’s a perfect example of how nature and global trade bring such treasures right in front of us.

This is our gemstone mine in Shigar Valley. As you can see, it’s a massive opening — big enough to walk inside standing upright. Mining has been happening here for many years. Some of these tunnels reach depths of 500 feet, and others go even deeper — up to 1,000 feet inside the mountain.

Most of these mines are extremely deep, with very little oxygen. There are no modern machines, no advanced technology, and very limited safety facilities. The miners work in harsh and dangerous conditions every single day.

This is how they earn a living. This is how they feed their families.

Behind every beautiful gemstone, there is hard work, risk, and sacrifice. So when you support a gemstone seller, you are not just buying a stone — you are supporting the lives and dreams of the people who risk everything to bring these natural treasures to the world.
