A major attribute for authentic learning in my class is that I provide immersive learning experiences that offer my students the chance to actively participate in real-life situations. Students can better understand the value and practicality of what they learn in the classroom by relating it to situations and problems in the real world. Including real life scenarios in my discussion affects how students access information, communicate, and learn within and outside of classrooms. As an educator engaged in authentic learning experiences, I provide them with the learning through twenty first century skills like critical thinking, adaptability, creativity, unity, cooperation and cultural competence, which improves their knowledge and sparks their enthusiasm for learning.

The inclusion of real life scenarios in my discussion goes beyond students’ lives inside of the classroom, as it ties into narrowing the achievement gap by preparing learners for future opportunities and necessary skills they will need to become competitive in a global, knowledge-based economy.
