The Sparkβ¨, together with the SLCV community, joins the commemoration of the life and legacy of all saints. Let us learn and reflect on their sacrifices and unparalleled faith that shape and strengthen our Christianity and all values that emanate from it.
November 1 is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church dedicated to the saints who have attained heaven (Catholic Online, 2022). Pope Boniface IV formally established All Saints' Day on May 13, 609 AD, when he dedicated the Pantheon in Rome to the Virgin Mary and all Martyrs. It should not be confused with All Souls' Day which is observed on November 2, since it is devoted to those who have died and not yet reached heaven.
May this day reminds us of our unparalleled faith and love of God.
May we never forget the souls of the martyrs and the legacies they lived in.
Have a blessed All Saints' Day, Louisians.βοΈ
