Marsse Tropical Timber
23/06/2021
The rainy season is upon us which means frequent typhoons and stronger winds. Some branches that could catch wind during typhoons can cause damage to entire trees. ⚠️
Have you pruned your trees? 🌳
Trees are regularly pruned to ensure that it grows straight, reducing this risk.
As the plant grows, everything below the forking of the trunk should be pruned. The cut should be made just before the collar (or intersections), so that the cut is flush with the main trunk or branch. This prevents infections, helps the tree heal
the wound, and preserves the quality of the wood once harvested. 🪵
Pruned branches can be turned into fuelwood, processed into charcoal, or used for small crafts. Some can also be used for small wood component parts. 🌱
