𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐌𝐆𝐅𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬

On July 30, 2025, the Cabisuculan Mushroom Growers and Farmers Association (CMGFA) participated in a comprehensive training on the processing of oyster mushroom-based food products, held in Cabisuculan, Nueva Ecija. This activity forms part of the project titled "Technology Transfer of Oyster Mushroom-Based Products (Pleurotus ostreatus) to Local Processors in Nueva Ecija for Enterprise Development."

The training was designed to enhance the technical competencies of local mushroom growers by introducing value-adding techniques aimed at increasing product diversity and market competitiveness. It was facilitated by Ms. Anne Margaret J. Toralba, Resident Food Technologist of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III), with technical assistance from Mr. Jan Espiritu. Topics covered included product formulation, food safety standards, and appropriate packaging methods.

This initiative underscores the department’s commitment to strengthening local agri-based enterprises through technology transfer and capacity-building. By equipping community-based organizations such as CMGFA with the knowledge and skills necessary for food processing and enterprise development, the project aims to promote rural economic growth and sustainable agricultural livelihoods in the region.
