HAHA
We recently bought new books at S&R, and before bed, Trevor was so excited to read them.
Watching him amazes us. Even when he sees some words for the first time, he pauses, sounds them out, thinks hard—and then gets them right. Little by little, he’s growing in ways that make him proud, and us even prouder.
He can now draw some shapes, write & trace his name. Some people ask why Trevor hasn’t started school yet. This tough little guy has been learning at home. He’s learning to read, write, draw, think, and express himself. He also practices boxing—and knows when he needs to protect himself when needed.
At the heart of it all is leadership at home—how Tatay Paul loves and guides our family—and the teamwork we have as husband and wife in raising our son.
Part of being parents is also learning to unlearn things from the past, while choosing to learn new things together—so we can raise our child with more understanding, intention, and love.
We really are doing things differently, but we’re raising Trevor with love, intention, and strong values—and we’re really proud of the person he’s becoming.

“The younger version of us would be proud.
So would the young parents we once were… who had no idea, but did it anyway.”
A few nights ago, Trevor learned something new from Khan Academy Kids and shared it with us.
Then tonight, he shared it again—so I was finally able to capture it 😂

There’s something surreal about watching a dream you once only whispered to yourself… quietly begin to take up space in the real world. 🥹
Haha How about you?
