The College of Teacher Education (CTE) dominated the Laragway 2026 storytelling competition, claiming both the championship title and second place honors at the NEMSU Library, April 28.
Trixy Vicentillo captured the gold after performing Carlos Bulosanโs "My Brother Goes to Court," while Mitch Hinayon secured the silver with the piece "My Brotherโs Peculiar Chicken."
In her victory, Vicentillo cited personal hurdles during the preparation phase as her greatest challenge.
"The most challenging part of preparing the story [was] myself," Vicentillo said. "Fortunately, with God's help, I know He always [has a] better plan than ours."
The double victory for the CTE highlights the department's strong performance in the literary arts category of the Laragway 2026.
