Nabasa mo na ba ang book of John?

Ang Book of John ay isinulat para ipakita kung sino talaga si Jesus hindi lang bilang Teacher o Miracle Worker.

“These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God…”
(John 20:31)

Sino ang sumulat?

Ang author ay si John the Apostle, na kilala bilang “the disciple whom Jesus loved.”
Isa siya sa inner circle ni Jesus (kasama nina Peter at James), kaya personal at malalim ang perspective niya.

Key Theme: Ang Deity ni Cristo

Sa John pa lang, malinaw na agad:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

Hindi na pinatagal, Jesus is God mula umpisa pa lang.

The 7 Signs sa Book of John

Pinili ni John ang 7 miracles na tinawag niyang signs:
1. Water into wine
2. Healing ng official’s son
3. Healing sa Bethesda
4. Feeding the 5,000
5. Walking on water
6. Healing ng man born blind
7. Raising of Lazarus

Hindi lang ito miracles, revelations ito kung sino si Jesus.

The 7 “I AM” Statements

Dito rin makikita ang famous “I AM” statements:
• I am the Bread of Life
• I am the Light of the World
• I am the Door
• I am the Good Shepherd
• I am the Resurrection and the Life
• I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
• I am the True Vine

Direct itong konektado sa Yahweh ng Old Testament (Exodus 3:14).

Bakit mahalaga ang Book of John?
• Malinaw para sa new believers
• Malalim para sa mature Christians
• Solid foundation para sa Christology
• Pang-evangelism at pang-discipleship

Kung gusto mong ipaliwanag kung bakit si Jesus ay hindi lang mabuting tao kundi Diyos, the book of John ang basahin mo.

📖 Knowing the Truth Means Responding to Jesus

Acts 2:38
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Salvation is not based on tradition or emotion, but on obedience to God’s revealed truth. Knowing the truth is not only about understanding who Jesus is - it is about responding to who He is.

If you believe that Jesus is the Word made flesh, God manifested in the flesh, and the only Savior, then the next step is a personal response of faith.

✝️ Baptism Must Be Done in Jesus’ Name

Colossians 3:17 says,
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Baptism is a deed; therefore, it should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus.

🔥 The Biblical Pattern (Acts 2)

In Acts 2:37–38, after the people heard Peter’s message, they were cut to the heart and asked, “What shall we do?”
Peter answered: “Repent and be baptized…”

📌 Acts 2:41 adds:
“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added that day.”

This shows a clear pattern:
➡️ Hearing
➡️ Understanding
➡️ Believing
➡️ Repenting
➡️ Being baptized

Listening leads to self-reflection.
Self-reflection leads to humility.
Humility leads to obedience.
Obedience leads to God’s promise.

This biblical pattern shows that infant baptism is not the way of salvation, because belief must come first.

Jesus said in Mark 16:16:
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved.”

Belief requires hearing and understanding.

💧 Born of Water and Spirit

Jesus said in John 3:3,
“No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

When Nicodemus was confused, Jesus explained in John 3:5:
“No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”

Faith and obedience go together. In Scripture, baptism follows faith immediately - without delay.
