The GITEX ASIA Singapore 2026 marked exciting milestones for the Philippine delegation as Filipino startups, together with the DOST TAPI team, showcased a promising lineup of AI-driven technologies.

From back-to-back business matching sessions and investor engagements to standout performances at the Supernova Pitch Competition, our Filipino startups demonstrated the strength and global competitiveness of our homegrown innovations.

The exhibition concluded with new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and international expansion, further advancing Filipino innovations on the global stage.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 BusinessMirror: Every invention begins the same way: with a problem someone refuses to ignore. A farmer is looking for a better way to dry crops. A student is building a safer helmet. A researcher is trying to make technology more accessible.

Across the Philippines, these ideas exist. But for many innovators, the real challenge is not creating them; it’s moving them forward.

At Malacañang, that challenge, and its possibilities, took center stage as the country’s top innovators were recognized on April 28 through the NICE 2026 Presidential Awards. NICE stands for National Invention Contest and Exhibit.

Both inventors are program proponents of DOST-TAPI, which supports Filipino innovators in scaling up their inventions, from intellectual property protection to commercialization. Through DOST-TAPI’s SPICE Program, these inventions were also linked to global markets, gaining market leads and recognition.

The DOST-TAPI together with the Filipino startup delegation engaged with key players across Singapore’s startup and innovation ecosystem.

Through discussions with QAI Ventures, Nanyang Technological University’s NTUitive, and Stage One by Startup SG (Enterprise Singapore), the delegation gained valuable insights into venture capital pathways and innovation support systems designed to accelerate market-ready technologies toward global competitiveness.

These engagements continue to open new opportunities towards the advancement of Filipino innovations on the international stage.
