— 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐚 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫

And just like that, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙 has successfully conducted its first-ever journalism seminar at Taguig City University: 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. This wasn’t just a simple event—it was a multidimensional experience that brought our community of storytellers together for the very first time.

This milestone was made possible through the visionary leadership of our Editor-in-Chief, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝗰, and the relentless hard work of the 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 and 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱. Their tireless dedication behind the scenes truly brought this vision to life.

We were honored to learn from our three esteemed keynote speakers: 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗦. 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝘁, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗖. 𝗔ñ𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗼, who shared invaluable insights with the TCU students.

The energy of the day was kept high by our brilliant masters of ceremonies, 𝗟𝗶𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗹 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠. 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼, and further charged by a thrilling intermission performance from 𝗖𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮.

𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮, 𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗢 𝗩𝗜 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗔. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮, whose unwavering support kept The Herald moving forward.

From a vision to a successful reality, we’ve proven that the pen is mightier when we work together. This moment sparks the beginning for the TCU student press. 🙌🏻

Today marks a moment in time where voices are given space to matter, where they are finally
echoed, heard, and recognized.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙖𝙮, a staple in time in which journalists rejoice and reminds us of the importance of press freedom in our world.
Journalism is not just a profession, a hobby, or a skill, but a role shared by all who seek truth.
This reminds us that we are in a world where information shapes our reality, both in good ways and in some unfortunate cases, in bad ways. In this reality, press freedom stands as a guide, a direction toward accountability and transparency, which is critically needed in times of obscurity.

It reminds us that truth is built from the corners of our thoughts, so it may be heard, recognized,
and understood no matter how uncomfortable, painful, or groundbreaking it may be. With courage in our pockets, truths become bridges that connect people and make peace possible.
The people, the minds, the thoughts, and ideas are our platforms, our instruments, our tools that open doors for a better future. This day tells us that expression is not limited. We, in our own ways, are journalists that carry perspectives that matter.

As we embrace and observe World Press Freedom Day, may we be reminded that speaking the truth is not an easy task, it carries weight and demands courage, but it stands as a
representation of our freedom to stand for what is true.

This Day of Valor, we honor the heroes who gave their lives so that we may live in freedom. Their courage is more than a chapter in history. It is a living flame that continues to inspire us across generations.

May this day remind us that true strength is found in our love for our country and in our compassion for one another. ☀️

Let us carry their spirit in everything we do. In every act of courage, every stand we take, and every choice we make for the greater good, we keep their sacrifice alive. Together, we continue their fight for a nation that is freer, more just, and worthy of their bravery.
