Some people will look at this and say:
“Runner kayo pero bakit may sisig?” 😂

Simple answer?

Because we run to build a better life — not to make life miserable.

After the Saturday run, this is the part people don’t always see.

Yes, we train.
Yes, we climb.
Yes, we push.

But after that?

We sit down at Café Y Ruedas, we recover, we eat, and we enjoy real conversations with real people trying to become better.

Because a healthy lifestyle is not about suffering for content.
It is about building habits you can actually sustain.

And let’s be honest:

Carbs are not the enemy.
They help fuel the work.
They help you hold your pace.
They help you recover.

And no — one plate of Sisig Silog does not magically cancel a morning of hill repeats. Relax lang. Hindi po ganun ka-dramatic ang buhay. 😄

Could we eat “cleaner” every single meal?

Maybe.

But the bigger question is:

Can you live that way long enough to stay consistent?

Because consistency beats fake perfection.

At CYR RUN CLUB, we believe training should improve your life — not make you afraid of food.

We are not here to worship calories.
We are here to build strength, discipline, friendships, and a lifestyle that lasts.

So yes, we run.
Yes, we recover.
And yes, sometimes recovery includes good food, good laughs, and good company.

Because the goal is not to deprive yourself of the good life.

The goal is to enjoy life in a healthier, stronger, more sustainable way.

That is CYR RUN CLUB.

Train at the CYR route.
Climb at the bridge.
Recover at the café.
Build life with the community.

Real people.
Real progress.
Real conversations.
And yes… sometimes real Sisig Silog. 😄

I FAILED MY 28KM RUN TODAY.
And maybe that was exactly the lesson I needed.

Not every failure in life is there to destroy you.
Sometimes, it is there to expose you.

To expose your weak preparation.
Your wrong priorities.
Your poor time management.
Your lack of discipline.
And sometimes… even the wrong people around you.

Because if we really want change in our life, we need to change.
But before anything changes, we must first be honest enough to recognize what needs changing.

And that is the hard part.

It is easy to say, “I want to improve.”
It is harder to admit,
“Baka ako rin ang problema.”

That is why this post is not about pity.
This is about recognition.
This is about accountability.
This is about growth.

In CYR RUN CLUB, we do not label people as weak, slow, or not good enough.

We only believe in one thing:

People here want to improve.

That’s it.

Some are fast.
Some are beginners.
Some are struggling.
Some are making a comeback.
But all of us are here for one reason:

To become better than who we were yesterday.

And together, we help each other grow.

So if today you failed…
do not quit.

Pause.
Reflect.
Recognize the mistake.
Fix what needs fixing.
Then come back stronger.

Because progress is not about pretending you are doing well.
Progress is about having the courage to admit when you are not —
and still choosing to keep going.
