Jack Canfield told the story of a monastery being relocated in Thailand back in 1957. The monks were moving a giant clay Buddha when one of them noticed a crack in its surface.

Another monk came to further examine the statue. Shining his flashlight over the crack, something within the Buddha reflected back at him. He got a hammer and a chisel and began carefully chipping away at the clay.

As he removed the clay covering piece by piece, everyone was astonished to see a solid-gold Buddha. Historians believed that his golden Buddha was covered with clay by monks centuries earlier when the monastery was under attack by the Burmese army. They covered the gold in clay so it wouldn't be stolen. In the attack, sadly, all the monks were killed, and it took several hundred years to discover the priceless treasure underneath the clay.
