PRC Kalinga Chapter

A Health Caravan led by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter and the PRC National Headquarters was held on March 26 at Socbot Elementary School, providing medical consultations, vital signs checks, free medicine distribution, and other essential health services to residents of Barangay Socbot, Pinukpuk.
Free hot meals were also distributed, and a child-friendly space was organized where students learned handwashing, participated in coloring activities, and played games.
The success of this initiative was made possible through the partnership and coordinated efforts of the Philippine Red Cross - Kalinga Chapter with the following:
• College of Nursing, Saint Tonis College, Inc. (STCI),
• Kalinga DRRM Council (PDRRMC),
• Barangay Local Government Unit of Socbot,
• Socbot Elementary School,
• Kalinga State University, through its BS Biology interns,
• Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Pinukpuk, and
• Dr. Aiza Catriz of Pinukpuk District Hospital.

To celebrate his birthday, Kalinga Governor James S. Edduba led the annual Lumin-awa Blood Donation Drive on Friday, February 20, at the Kalinga Astrodome.
The bloodletting activity saw a strong turnout, made possible through the partnership of the Philippine Red Cross - Kalinga Chapter, the Office of the Provincial Health Officer, and the Provincial Blood Council.
Volunteers from PAMET Kalinga, KSU, STCI, and SNHS; donors from government offices and the private sector; and other supporters filled the venue in support of the program.

On February 19, Barangay Poblacion in Tanudan (Mangali) welcomed the Philippine Red Cross - Kalinga Chapter and the Rural Health Unit of Tanudan for a Health Caravan that brought essential services closer to the community.
Held at the Barangay Hall, the activity offered free medical consultations, a Basic Life Support (BLS) lecture-demonstration, free blood typing, a child-friendly space, and the distribution of hygiene, mama, and baby kits.
Senior citizens, students, mothers, and children turned out to benefit from the services.
