On February 20, 2026, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) welcomed young learners from Colombasinong Child Development Center through the Lakbay Bulilit Program of LGU Surallah, in partnership with Book Nook Surallah. The visit featured storytelling, guided exploration, and interactive reading activities that introduced children to the joy of books in a safe and supportive environment. Supported by school and community leaders, the initiative promoted early literacy, collaboration, and inclusive access to learning resources aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10, and 17.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) reaffirms its strong support for the Commission on Higher Education’s call to strengthen literacy initiatives nationwide. Through its partnership with Book Nook Surallah and collaboration with local stakeholders, the institution actively promotes reading comprehension and functional literacy, beginning in early childhood. Serving an average of 100–150 readers daily, the program recorded 5,277 readers in 2023, increased to 7,779 in 2024, and significantly expanded to 19,904 readers by the end of 2025, with 1,331 individuals reached in January 2026 alone.

Anchored on CHED’s directive to assist DepEd, HCCCI integrates outreach, service-learning, and community-based programs to address foundational learning gaps. These sustained and measurable efforts reflect the college’s commitment to academic excellence, national development, and shared responsibility in advancing quality education.
